GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Two four-year restraining orders were granted Friday after an agreement was reached in a harassment case involving former radio host Otis Day.
Day, whose real name is Richard Dey, and Emily Chagnon, a Marion resident, are now required to stay away from WIXX morning radio host Natalie Jansen. The two were in court Friday — the third hearing in the case.
As part of the agreement, both Dey and Chagnon admitted in court they were part of a conspiracy to harass Jansen, WIXX, and Midwest Communications, the parent company of WIXX.
The agreement comes months after a temporary restraining order was filed against Dey and Chagnon. The two were accused of online bullying, as our TV partners, FOX 11, first reported.
According to a Brown County Sheriff’s report and information provided to FOX 11, Jansen and her boss contacted the department after a picture was posted on the “Tiw’s Day Hollaback XXIW” page. The picture is of Jansen near Lambeau Field on gameday and states “Natalie strolled right past without a clue that she was within two feet of royalty — the Troll King himself.”
The sheriff’s office found the page was created in April of 2024. It has since been deleted, but screenshots show there were dozens of posts, plenty critical of Jansen’s on-air performance, but also some that were personal. Multiple posts involve Jansen’s son and a custody battle.
The case report shows video surveillance from the day the picture of Jansen was taken helped lead authorities to Chagnon who admitted to investigators she ran the “Hollaback” page.
Jansen and her boss didn’t know who Chagnon was when the sheriff’s department provided them her name, but they ended up finding an apparent connection to the radio station.
The case report shows WIXX leadership looked into Facebook pages the station owns for employees that are supposed to be used for work purposes. They discovered a conversation between Chagnon and former longtime WIXX employee Otis Day.
Day left the station in 2022, and joined KISS in late 2023, but was apparently still using the WIXX-owned Facebook page.
Chagnon initiated the conversation with Day in January 2024.
Day has been at the center of public attention since FOX 11 reported he was no longer with 95.9 KISS FM while facing the restraining order proceedings filed by Jansen.
WTAQ is owned by Midwest Communications and is a sister station of WIXX.
