(WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers bullpen – specifically reliever Chad Patrick – went up in flames Saturday night as the Brewers lost to the Chicago Cubs 8-2 at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
Kyle Harrison had allowed 2 runs with 9 strikeouts over the first 5 innings. Chad Patrick took over in the sixth and promptly allowed 4 runs with 3 of the runs scoring on a home run by Ian Happ.
Grant Anderson and Joel Kuhnel allowed single runs in the seventh and ninth innings.
Offensively, the Brewers got a home run from Jackson Chourio off of Cubs starter Jason Peterson in the first inning but got just 4 hits the rest of the way.
Peterson went 5 2/3 innings before a parade of Cubs relief pitchers allowed just 1 walk over the final 3 1/3 innings.
The 2 teams will wrap up the series this afternoon.
Brandon Woodruff who is 2-1 with an ERA of 3.00 will start for the Brewers.
The Cubs will counter with Ryan Rolison who is 5-1 with a 1.82 ERA. Rolison will be making only his second start of the season. He has come out of the bullpen 24 times.
The game can be heard beginning with the pre-game show at 12:35 on 97.5 and 1360 WTAQ.
