(WTAQ-WLUK) — A former correctional officer was sentenced Tuesday to 8-14 months in federal prison for smuggling items into the Waupun Correctional Institution for an inmate in exchange for money.
Luz Naranjo was also placed on probation for two years by federal Judge Lynn Adelman, court records show.
According to court documents, Naranjo, a former correctional officer at WCI, received two bribe payments of $3,000 for smuggling contraband — including tobacco, cell phones and controlled substances — into WCI for an inmate.
