The Hochkammer and Krueger families will welcome thousands of visitors to celebrate June Dairy Month at Hochkammer Dairy Farm, LLC, on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Manitowoc County’s Breakfast on the Farm.
This family farm has been owned and operated in Manitowoc County since 1849, but their roots in agriculture stretch back to nearly 1670 in Germany. Today, they care for about 280 milking cows, 300 youngstock, and 650 acres in Manitowoc County. Amongst the herd, visitors will be able to spot the iconic black and white Holstein, distinctive red and white Ayrshire, and everyone’s favorite little brown cow, the Jersey.
In addition, this year’s breakfast will feature a look at soil and water conservation today, including the farm’s grassed waterways, cover crops, and nutrient management. Hochkammer Dairy Farm, LLC, is a proud member of Seven Rivers Soil Cooperative. Co-owner Cory Krueger acknowledges there are costs to implementing these tools but says the cost is worth it to save and protect the soil.
The Hochkammer and Krueger families are no strangers to community involvement and may be familiar faces for attendees. Tom (Herbie) Hochkammer has served decades on the Newton Fire Department, while his son, Casey, is an active volunteer with Newton Youth Sports. Emma Krueger currently serves as the Manitowoc County Dairy Princess.
Hosted in conjunction with the Manitowoc County Dairy Promotion Committee and Manitowoc County Farm Bureau, and supported by dozens of local sponsors and volunteers, this annual event celebrates the impact of dairy here in Wisconsin by opening a dairy farm’s doors to the community. According to the National Agriculture Statistics Service, Manitowoc County leads Wisconsin as the top milk producing county in the state and ranks in the top 25 milk producing counties in the nation. Wisconsin’s dairy industry contributes $52.8 billion to Wisconsin’s economy each year.
Visitors will enjoy a hearty farm breakfast including a ham and cheese omelet, fried cheese curds, sausage, yogurt, other cheeses, cinnamon bread, milk and coffee. Ice cream will also be available for those looking to satisfy their dairy craving! New this year will be cheese quesadillas – with both standard and gluten-free options available!
As usual, local farmers and agriculturists will help lead tours of the farm, offer opportunities for a photo with a calf, and host various children’s activities. With Nettle Hill headlining the main stage and the crowning of the Manitowoc County Dairy Princess and Miss Farm Bureau at 9:30 am, there will be activities for all ages!
The farm is located conveniently outside of Manitowoc at 5908 Center Road, Manitowoc, WI 54220. Parking will be available in a nearby hayfield, and visitors are encouraged to check the Manitowoc County Breakfast on the Farm Facebook page for more information as the event date approaches.
Tickets will be available at the door, cash only. Prices will be as follows: $10 for adults, $5 for ages 5-12, and free for ages 4 and under.
