Dennis Derbique (BCSO)
GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Dennis Derbique pleaded not guilty Monday to charges he sexually assaulted a 7-year-old girl and took sexually-explicit photos of her.
Derbique, 76, face 15 charges, including repeated sexual assault of the same child, child enticement, and possession of child pornography.
No trial date was set Monday. He returns to court May 18 for a status conference, court records show.
According to the criminal complaint, police were alerted to a 20-second video clip posted on Snapchat showing the naked girl, with a male commenting on her appearance.
Police traced the video to Derbique, who eventually admitted to seeing the girl naked on multiple occasions and being naked himself around her.
“At least one time in the past I allowed [Victim 1] to touch my penis,” the complaint states. “I am sorry for the things that I have done.”
Police interviewed Derbique a second time about other videos on his cell phones, and he admitted to another incident in which he recorded video of the first victim and her older sister. One video appears to show Derbique touching the younger girl sexually. He told an investigator he didn’t remember the specifics of that incident, however.
A normal adult would have never put themselves into this position and if so, they would have stopped it. I chose not to stop it at any time and actually encouraged it by leaving the door closed and video recording it. I am physically and sexually attracted to little girls. I have a problem and recognize that I need help,” the complaint quotes Derbique as saying.
The children’s parents told police they allowed the girls to visit Derbique but did not know what was happening.
Police found more than 1,300 child porn images on his devices.
