BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A man is dead after a weapons call at Pamperin Park Monday afternoon.
Around 3:30 p.m., the Brown County Sheriff’s Office alerted the public to a large police presence at the park. Officials said the incident was under control and there was no threat to the public. However, the park was closed as a precaution.
In an update around 7:45 p.m., the sheriff’s office said deputies responded to Pamperin Park for a report of an armed man.
“Witnesses observed the male on a phone, walking away from a vehicle with a weapon, heading to a wooded area of the park,” the release states.
Further details were not released. All the sheriff’s office said was, “More information may be released at a later date pending family notification and medical examiner’s release.”
