KAUKAUNA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A house in Kaukauna has been deemed a total loss following a fire Friday morning.
According to the Vandenbroek Kaukauna Fire Department, first responders were dispatched to the fire around 6:38 a.m. in the Town of Kaukauna.
The fire was called in by someone passing by that noticed smoke coming out of the residence. The caller attempted to contact anyone inside, but no one answered and the house felt unusually hot.
Upon arrival, crews had problems entering the residence due to personal contents obstructing several entrances.
Authorities later confirmed that there were no residents in the home at the time, and the homeowner was out of state.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
