GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Former Mishicot teacher Ryan Schroeder was convicted in federal court of production of child pornography, and will be sentenced June 16.
Schroeder, 37, pleaded guilty to one count last week, with a second count being dismissed, court records show.
According to the plea agreement, Schroeder convinced a minor, who was under age 16 at the time, to “engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of the conduct.”
The conviction carries a 15-to-30 year prison sentence.
Schroeder also faces 19 charges in state court, including repeated sexual assault of a child, sexual assault of a student by a school staff member, and child sexploitation.
A March 17 plea hearing is set in that case.
According to the criminal complaint in state court, the encounters started about Aug. 1, 2023, and continued into 2025. The girl was 14 when the assaults began.
“Schroeder admitted he was having sexual intercourse with VICTIM 1 since 2023, continuously through 2025, and most recently at the end of March 2025. Schroeder admitted having sexual intercourse with VICTIM 1 over 50 separate times with VICTIM 1 from 2023-2025. Schroeder admitted to having sexual intercourse with VICTIM 1 inside of Mishicot High School over 10 times from 2023-2025,” the complaint states.
Some of the videos show the two engaged in sexual activities. There are also “selfie” photos, showing the girl in states of undress.
The complaint also identifies a second victim. Schroeder and that female exchanged nude photos, the complaint alleges.
