OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Marcus Norman was charged with attempted homicide for allegedly stabbing the man who was with the mother of his children.
Norman, 41, made an initial court appearance Wednesday on five counts, including attempted first-degree intentional homicide, substantial battery, stalking, eluding police and obstruction. A $500,000 cash bail was set. He returns to court March 12 for a preliminary hearing, court records show.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called to a hotel Saturday for a report of stabbing. The victim had wounds to his ear, neck, right calf and left leg. He needed five stitches in his right calf and nine in his left leg.
A woman told police Norman came to the hotel, pointed the knife at the victim and said, “You about to die” before attacking the man.
Norman fled the scene. Police used Flock cameras to locate him. After a chase, he was eventually stopped and arrested.
Norman police the victim had challenged him to a fight several days before. The victim told police Norman had previously threatened to shoot him, according to the complaint.
