WINNEBAGO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — It was a busy evening Tuesday for the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.
From 3:15 to 6:15 p.m., the 911 communications center took 121 calls, with a total of 216 inbound/outbound calls in that period. During that same three-hour window, there were 97 crashes, vehicles in the ditch or other weather hazards addressed throughout Winnebago County.
Another surge occurred from 6:15 to 6:30 p.m., with 17 calls coming in, and again between 8:45 p.m. and 9 p.m., during which time there were 24 calls.
“Think of all the deputies, officers, firefighters, first responders, EMS providers, tow truck operators, highway snow and plow drivers and others… running call to call all night, doing the work,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.
