PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Wisconsin Association of FFA is recruiting interns to help share the celebration of FFA members leading up to and during the 2026 Wisconsin State FFA Convention, occurring June 15-18, 2026, in Madison, WI.
The goal of the internship positions is to provide collegiate students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience covering a convention, while also having a media presence for all audiences. Interns are essential to engaging our members and stakeholders to continue providing the next generation of agriculturists for the world.
Multiple intern positions are offered this year. Ideal candidates should have completed at least one year of collegiate coursework, with a focus in the areas of agriculture, communications, journalism or a related field. FFA experience is preferred. Position descriptions are below.
Public Relations Team Internship Positions
Social Media Intern: This position works with the Wisconsin State FFA Convention Public Relations Team and convention managers to assist with the development and implementation of the Wisconsin Association of FFA social media and online content for purposes of outreach, marketing, and public relations of the Wisconsin State FFA Convention. Creative Writing Intern: This position works closely with the Wisconsin State FFA Convention Public Relations Team and convention managers to support the development and implementation of newspaper, television, and radio content for outreach, marketing, and public relations efforts related to the Wisconsin State FFA Convention. In addition, this intern will collaborate with student Public Relations members to develop a post-convention recap newsletter. Interview Intern: This position works with the Wisconsin State FFA Convention Public Relations Team and convention managers to conduct interviews with members, alumni, sponsors, and guests for internal social media content. Interviews will be used to capture short-form video, quotes, and highlights that support real-time and post-convention storytelling across Wisconsin FFA’s internal social media channels and digital platforms. Photography Intern: This position works with the Wisconsin State FFA Convention Public Relations Team and convention managers to assist with all awards photography for purposes of outreach, marketing, and public relations of the Wisconsin State FFA Convention. WAAE Professional Development Conference Intern: The Wisconsin Association of Agricultural Educators will host its annual professional development conference in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, from June 28 to July 2. Depending on applicants, this intern may be selected for the PR Team during the Wisconsin FFA Convention, holding one of the above positions, and will continue working with WAAE staff to provide communications coverage before and throughout their conference, along with other projects as assigned. The intern will receive an additional stipend and housing in recognition of this work. A full job description, including required experience and competencies, can be found here.
Other Information: Wisconsin Association of FFA will provide lodging and meals throughout the event and will provide a stipend upon the successful completion of the internship. Intern’s responsibilities begin upon hiring in May and conclude following the week after the convention. Should the intern desire to receive internship credit for this experience, Wisconsin FFA will work with their respective University to ensure credit requirements are met. Expense of the internship credit will be the responsibility of the intern.

- Creative Writing: Sample press release on a topic of your choice
- WAAE: Indicate availability for June 28-July 2

Notification: Applicants will be notified of their status no later than Sunday, March 8, 2026. Interviews will take place on March 9 – 12, 2026. Final offers will be sent no later than March 20, 2026. At this time, individuals offered a position may be subject to a background check.
