(WTAQ-WLUK) — Firefighters responded to back-to-back fire calls Thursday night at Wrightstown businesses.
The first one was at 10:26 p.m. in the 400 block of Quality Court for a report of a possible structure fire. Multiple area departments responded.
Upon arrival, crews reported nothing showing from the outside of the structure. Further investigation determined the source to be a transformer fire that was extinguished prior to fire department arrival.
Wisconsin Public Service was requested to respond to the scene to investigate the cause of the power outage associated with the incident.
While units were still operating at the first call, the Fox River Fire District was dispatched at 10:57 p.m. to a second possible structure fire nearby in the 1400 block of Poplar Street.
When crews arrived on scene, it was reported nothing showing, with employees evacuated from the building. Interior crews identified a light haze and the odor of smoke inside the structure. De Pere Fire Ladder 111 accessed the roof and located a burnt-out motor within an air handling unit.
No active fire was found, and the issue was determined to be mechanical in nature. After confirming there was no extension or additional hazards, crews turned the building back over to the owner.
All units cleared both scenes without injury and returned to service.
