Cody J Krueger
OCONTO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Cody Krueger was sentenced Thursday to 10 years in prison for shooting a man in Oconto in 2021.
Krueger, 28, was convicted of aggravated battery-intending great bodily harm. He was also placed on extended supervision for five years by Judge Michael Judge, court records show.
According to the criminal complaint, Nicholas Staidl was shot shortly after the postal service delivered a package Sept. 3, 2021, to a residence on Superior Avenue.
Oconto police said the shooting was about the package, which contained narcotics. The criminal complaint, however, makes no mention of narcotics. In the complaint, Staidl says issues about a woman may have led to the shooting.
Authorities found Krueger hiding in the woods and took him into custody.
