GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The alleged drunken driver who is accused of running red light, killing a teen and injuring her father, was ordered Monday to stand trial.
Douglas Proehl, 69, faces charges of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle, and operating while intoxicated causing injury for the Jan. 30 crash at Lombardi Avenue and Holmgren Way in Ashwaubenon. Chloe Bishop, 17, was killed and her father, Danny, was injured.
After testimony at a preliminary hearing by Ashwaubenon Public Safety Officer Robert Deutsch, Proehl was bound over for trial.
Arraignment is scheduled for April 13.
Defense attorney Sarvan Singh’s attempts to ask the officer questions about the sequence of Proehl’s arrest and the field sobriety test were denied by the commissioner, but could be raised at a future hearing.
