(UW ATHLETICS) – The No. 13/12 Wisconsin men’s hockey team begins its final six-game stretch of the regular season with a trip to Columbus to face the Ohio State Buckeyes on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 13-14.
Friday’s game starts at 5:30 p.m. CT and streams on B1G+, while Saturday’s contest starts at 6:30 p.m. CT and airs on the Big Ten Network.
The Buckeyes have a 10-15-1 overall record, going 6-10-0 in Big Ten play to sit sixth with 19 points, but with two fewer conference games played than Wisconsin. They enter the weekend after sweeping Minnesota in Minneapolis, winning game one, 6-2, and game two, 2-1.
Freshman forward Jake Karabela leads the roster with 24 points (8g, 16a) in 26 games played, while junior forward Max Montes leads with 11 goals in 26 games. Junior goaltender Kristoffer Eberly has six wins in 17 games played, accumulating a .883 save percentage and a 3.34 goals-allowed on average.
The last time OSU and the Badgers met was in Madison on Nov. 14-15, 2025. In game one, UW lost, 5-1, before rebounding for a 6-5 overtime victory in game two, with Gavin Morrissey playing the hero in the extra time.
WOMEN
The No.1 Wisconsin women’s hockey team contests the Minnesota State Mavericks in Mankato, Minn. this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 13 and 14. Friday’s game will be at 3 p.m and Saturday’s at 2 p.m. (CT).
Last weekend the Badgers faced the No. 2 Ohio State at La Bahn Arena on Saturday and Sunday, Feb 7 and 8. In game one of the series, the Badgers fell short with a 4-1 loss, with junior Ava Murphy tallying the goal for UW.
Wisconsin came back the next day to secure a 4-1 win over the Buckeyes. Captain Lacey Eden had a multi-point game, scoring one goal and two assists.
Wisconsin last met Mankato at LaBahn Arena on Oct. 25 and 26, where the Badgers swept the Mavericks 4-0 and 8-0.
In game two of the series against Mankato, eight different Badgers found the back of the net: Hannah Halverson, Lacey Eden, Kelly Gorbatenko, Cassie Hall, Claire Enright, Maggie Scannell, Adéla Šapovalivová and Vivian Jungels.
Overall, Wisconsin is 113-3-3 with the Mavericks and is on a 22-game winning streak against them, dating back to Feb. 8, 2020.
