GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Green Bay Mayor’s Office has announced that Fire Chief Matthew Knott has decided to step away from his position with the Green Bay Metro Fire Department.
The office says Knott made the decision to prioritize what is best for his family.
The releases says Knott extends his heartfelt gratitude to the Greater Green Bay community for the support and kindness he has felt over the past three years in the position.
Green Bay extended its thanks to Knott for his service and contributions to the area during his tenure, including his work to secure a $5 million grant to support construction of a new fire station.
It is unknown when Knott’s replacement will be announced.
