GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Green Bay Police are now able to impound vehicles after a driver is suspected of reckless driving.
The Green Bay Common Council approved an ordinance on Tuesday that allows officers to impound the vehicle while issuing tickets or making arrests related to reckless driving.
The driver would be subject to any fees associated with a ticket, plus fees for towing, storage, etc.
The police department would have to determine if the vehicle is stolen and return it to the owner if its impounded.
The new ordinance goes into effect immediately.
