GREEN LAKE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Ryan Borgwardt – the man convicted of obstruction for faking his own death on Green Lake and travelling to the country of Georgia – didn’t show up in court Tuesday on a motion he filed about evidence in the case.
Borgwardt was sentenced to 89 days in jail on the misdemeanor obstruction conviction for the 2024 faked disappearance.
He had filed a motion asking for Green Lake County authorities to delete or destroy digital materials in the case.
Judge Mark Slate called the case eight minutes after it was scheduled. After noting neither Borgwardt or his attorney were there, he dismissed the motion.
