SHAWANO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Shawano Police Department is searching for two persons of interest in a shooting that occurred Thursday night.
Shortly after 9 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 500 block of South Sawyer Street.
One victim sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim received medical care at the scene and was transferred by ambulance for further evaluation.
Police on Friday asked for the public’s help locating two men who are considered persons of interest in the case: 20-year-old Deonte Matchopatow and 19-year-old Derek Corn.
“At this time, no conclusions have been made, and these individuals are not being labeled as suspects,” a news release states.
An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the pair’s whereabouts or recent activities, or anyone who may have seen or heard from them, is asked to contact authorities at (715) 524-4545 . Tips can be provided anonymously.
