MANITOWOC COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a crash killed a teen from Sheboygan.
According to a release, the sheriff’s office says emergency responders were called to the area of STH 57/32 and Cemetery Road in Manitowoc County just after 7 a.m. Saturday.
Officials say a 17-year-old girl, driving a Buick LaCrosse, was southbound on STH 57/32 when she lost control of her car.
“The vehicle then crossed over the median and entered into the northbound lane of traffic,” the release says.
The teen’s car collided with an SUV, which was being driven by a 65-year-old man from Port Washington.
“The 17-year-old operator was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The 65-year-old operator was transported to a medical facility with serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries,” the release states.
As of now, no further information is being released as the Wisconsin State Patrol continues its investigation.
