APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Menasha police officer has been arrested in Appleton on suspicion of stalking.
Appleton police say Cristian Morales of Appleton was arrested Wednesday morning. Police are recommending he be charged with one count of stalking. Formal charges have not been filed, and police did not release details of the allegations.
The Outagamie County District Attorney’s Office says Morales is not expected to appear in court Wednesday, but could appear as soon as Thursday.
Appleton police say the investigation began October, and Menasha police provided assistance as needed.
According to posts on the Menasha Police Department’s Instagram account, Morales joined the department last March and completed the department’s field training program in August.
The Menasha Police Department has placed Morales on administrative leave.
