HILBERT, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A woman who was critically injured in a Christmas Day shooting in Hilbert has died.
On Wednesday, the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as 25-year-old Hailey Couillard. She had been on life support since the incident, according to authorities.
A GoFundMe page for Couillard says she was the mother of two children.
The shooting happened Dec. 25, just after 9 p.m., at a home in the Hilbert Acres Mobile Home Community at 3 Wayne Lane. When deputies arrived on scene, they discovered Couillard had suffered a gunshot wound to her head. She was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A man in the home was interviewed and released. Police say he is cooperating in the investigation. No one has been arrested. Officials do not believe there is any danger to the community.
