MADISON, WI (Wisconsin Radio Network) – Employers are about to start sending out W-2 forms, and that means Tax Season is on its way.
AS the tax season starts, the IRS is reaching out to people to make sure they’re using the Free File program. IRS Free File Director Diane Fox says on average, you probably qualify to file your taxes online for free. “Anyone who made $69,000 or less last year, and that’s most of us, can use free file.”
Around 52,000 Wisconsinites used Free File last year. Fox said, “That’s a lot, but many eligible people missed out on this free way to do taxes.”
