MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — Wisconsin public schools’ open enrollment period is now open, and runs through the end of April. That’s when parents can apply to have their children enroll in a public school district other than the one in which they currently reside.
And in Marshfield, superintendent Dr. Ryan Christianson reminds parents that this year, you can only apply ‘online.’ “The way things work with this process, with our state Department of Public Instruction, is everything’s done electronically so please be advised there are no paper applications anymore.”
“The open enrollment applications are available at the DPI website,” Christianson explained. “There’s also a Q&A if you have questions regarding the open enrollment process. At that website, you can get more information on all of that.”
Any parents without internet access can go to most school district offices or public libraries for help getting online to apply. And Christianson says, be sure and apply by the April 30th deadline. “Early or late applications cannot be accepted so please be advised of those dates. Again, it’s open now and runs through the end of April.”
