MILWAUKEE, WI (Wisconsin Radio Network-WSAU) – More delegates are taking a pass on coming to the Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee this summer, and that’s IF it actually takes place.
The New York Times interviewed 60 delegates last week, and fewer than ten say they plan to travel to Milwaukee to attend the convention in-person. Convention planners are trying to find a way to balance Coronavirus fears, and calls for an online convention. They want as many people as safely possible at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee in August.
The convention has already been pushed back from July to August 17-20.
Presumptive nominee Joe Biden has suggested a virtual convention may be more feesible. Governor Tony Evers last weekend said he doubts the full in-person convention will take place in Milwaukee this summer.
