KENOSHA, WI (WSAU-Wisconsin Radio Network) – Amazon has seen COVID-19 cases at several of its warehouses and distribution centers around the country… now there are similar concerns in Wisconsin. At least 30 employees at Amazon’s warehouse in Kenosha have the Coronavirus.
Local health officials want to know how many more people might have it, but so far they have not gotten the answer. Kenosha County Public Health Officer Jen Freiheit says Amazon is not fully cooperating with her office, and is not providing information on tracing — or workers who may possibly have been exposed.
Freiheit says if cooperation doesn’t improve, she may close the warehouse down.
Some workers have demonstrated or walked off their jobs at other Amazon facilities, claiming they lack proper protections from getting sick at work.
