MADISON, WI (WSAU) — Only 2.3% of COVID-19 tests in Wisconsin have come back positive in the past 24 hours, the lowest positive-percentage since widespread testing began over the past month.
During that period 7,868 people were tested across the state. Just 173 came back positive.
18,403 people in Wisconsin have had COVID-19 since the pandemic began, 63% of them are considered to have recovered.
The state’s death toll increased by 4 on Sunday, to 592.
There are currently 414 people in the hospital because of Coronavirus, 133 are in intensive care.
Testing is being conducted at 56 labs statewide with over 30 more to come online in the next few days.
The Centers for Disease Control on Saturday said Wisconsin continues to have the highest rate of people reporting flu-like symptoms in the country. Many of those cases may be influenza from a later-than-usual flu season, not Coronavirus.
