MADISON, WI (WTAQ) — The head of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation says businesses across the state have embraced social distancing as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
WEDC Secretary and CEO Missy Hughes says businesses are adopting the group’s COVID-19 guidelines to keep customers safe–and coming back.
“If they have a customer who comes in and does not feel like the business has taken into account their safety, they would be very concerned about losing that customer,” Hughes told reporters on Tuesday.
It’s not just a heavy handed, rigid set of guidelines, however. The WEDC recommendations are taking businesses into account.
“We continue to talk with businesses,” Hughes said. “Businesses are helping us evolve our guidelines.”
The guidelines are available for all types of businesses, from factories to restaurants. The WEDC’s business guidelines can be found on their website, WEDC.org.
