The Wisconsin State Fair's packed once again this year.
We took the trip down to good old Milwaukee for the day to see what it's all about and came up with the top five highlights for you!
5. The Ferris Wheel
Let's be honest, I'm scared of heights, so there was NO WAY that I was gonna hop on that thing. But, what I've heard from asking other people is that you can get some pretty cool views from way up there.
All I'd do is close my eyes and hope our cart doesn't come loose from the wheel.
So if you're into heights and fun, this would be a must.
4. Always something for the kids to do
3. The Barns
here
.
The worst thing would be getting all excited to see one certain animal and the barn's closed….talk about a buzzkill.
2. The Show Ring
This is where all the time and effort these kids put into the animals all year finally pays off! One thing I did notice, for the most part, was that these guys train the crap out of the animals. There was rarely one that jumped around. That's impressive.
Even just watching everyone show, you can tell they take it seriously. Even when they were walking a pig around that really wanted nothing to do with being in the ring. They killed it!
You would think that the biggest highlight of the fair would be the kids that show their animals. I mean, isn't that why most people even go to the fair?
Well, there might be one reason that's a little big bigger, but only one.
1. The Cream Puffs
Okay come on, were you really that surprised? These things are like a gift from God, but one that He strictly sent to bless Wisconsin. We stopped in the cream puff building a little after ten in the morning and it was already packed. There really is no better way to kick-start your day than with a Wisconsin cream puff.
Being completely honest here, my mom found out that we went to the fair today and was mad that I didn't bring her one back home. Apparently I should've never told her that we even went. I'm really not winning “Child of the Year” this time around.
But in all seriousness, the state fair is something I think everyone should check out at least one time. I can't really see going more than one day anyways, unless you love big crowds and expensive food.
If that's the case, you should go everyday! But for others like me, one's day's good enough…until next year.
