GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The Green Bay Metro Fire Department was dispatched to 301 S. Quincy Street for a structure fire at approximately just after 1 A. M. this morning (MONDAY).
Upon arrival, companies found smoke issuing from a window on the first floor of a two-story residential structure. The fire was quickly extinguished and under control in less than ten minutes.
Companies continued to perform ventilation and overhaul operations to clear smoke and check for fire extension.
Nine residents were occupying the building and escaped prior to the fire department’s arrival without injury, and will be displaced due to the damage to the structure.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office, and the damage is estimated at $50,000. Green Bay Police Department, Wisconsin Public Service, and the Red Cross were also utilized and assisted on the scene.
