MARINETTE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A competency exam has been ordered for the man accused in a 1976 murder of a couple at McClintock Park.
82-year old Raymand Vannieuwenhoven is charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of 25-year old David Schuldes and 24-year old Ellen Mathys.
A competency exam determines if Vannieuwenhoven understands the court proceedings and can assist in his own defense. The results will be discussed at a February 21st hearing.
No trial date has been set.
