HOWARD, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The second of three holiday autograph sessions featuring Green Bay Packers players was held Monday.
In the sports apparel section of the Fleet Farm in Howard, fans waited in line to get autographs from Luke Musgrave, Brandon McManus, John FitzPatrick, Josh Whyle and Warren Brinson. A $50 minimum donation was encouraged.
Every year around Christmastime, the Packers team up with the Salvation Army to raise money for their Red Kettle campaign. Players sign autographs for fans in exchange for monetary donations.
Many of the Salvation Army’s programs operate only with the money received through Red Kettle donations. All proceeds raised go toward aiding families in need, seniors and people experiencing homelessness in our community.
“This is an awesome event,” McManus said. “Just to come out here during the holidays and spread some cheer. [The fans] do a lot of cheering for us, so getting a chance to meet them, hear their stories and thank them for all their support.”
The community not only had a chance to come see us, but they also have a chance to help out kids and families in need here during a difficult time, as the weather turns and the holidays come around.
The first Packers autograph session took place Nov. 17 and featured Isaiah McDuffie, Colby Wooden, Jordan Morgan and Kingsley Enagbare. The third and final session will be held Dec. 15 at the Festival Foods in Suamico. Featured players for that event have not yet been released.
