GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — One of the biggest charitable giving days of the year starts Tuesday both online and in the Lambeau Field Atrium.
Give Big Green Bay is an online community wide giving event benefiting 40 non-profits throughout the area.
“Everything from animal welfare to culture to human services or youth development and community improvement,” Dennis Buehler, President and CEO of the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation told WTAQ’s ‘The Morning News With Matt and Earl’ Monday morning. “All the way from emerging organizations all the way to the most established.”
The Green Bay Packers are throwing their support behind the effort too.
“The Packers have contributed this quarter-million dollar matching pool,” Buehler said. “Along with some other donors in the community, we now have $360,000 in matching funds available.”
The website, GiveBigGreenBay.org, opens up for donations at noon on Tuesday. You can use the site to learn more about the organizations involve and, once the site opens, give directly to that organization with a push of a button.
“The idea was, lets come together and create a day that celebrates that work [in the community],” Buehler said. “Hopefully, it will connect you, as an individuals with things that are important to you and organizations that do that work.”
All proceeds go directly to the non-profit of your choice.
The event will also have a presence in the Lambeau Field Atrium, where in-person donations can be made.
