KAUKAUNA, WI (WTAQ) — We’re learning a little more about the death of two children in Kaukauna.
Police aren’t using the word “murder”, but, during a Tuesday press conference, Kaukauna Police Chief Jamie Graff did shed some light on the injuries the 5 year old boy and 3 year old girl sustained.
“When Kaukauna officers arrived, they found two juveniles, deceased, with intentionally inflicted injuries,” Graff told reporters.
Police were called out to that duplex on Crooks Avenue on Monday after someone called police saying that their children needed help.
Graff says one of the children was a student in the Kaukauna school district. Police have been in touch with the district to ensure services are available to students and staff.
“Anytime a death occurs due to intentionally inflicted injuries it is shocking to the community,” said Graff. “But when the victims are children, it’s unbearable.”
No arrests have been made, and it’s still not clear who originally placed the 911 call. Police are still on the scene as of Tuesday afternoon.
