FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Fond du Lac man has been sentenced for beating a woman and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Desmond F. Hicks, 43, was sentenced to seven years in prison and five years on extended supervision.
According to the criminal complaint, in June 2018, a woman who told police she was in a polyamorous relationship with Hicks went to his home. There, she found him holding a gun to the head of another woman who was also in the polyamorous relationship. The woman said Hicks told her not to leave so she could see what he was doing to the other woman. When she tried to leave, Hicks beat her with a handgun.
Hicks was acquitted of a charge of intimidating a witness.
