APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Ahead of April’s primary, Appleton’s Mayor Tim Hanna was honored for his years of service Monday.
He decided not to seek reelection after a record 24 years in office.
Legislators from across the Fox Valley spoke on Hanna’s commitment and drive for his position.
In his own short speech, the soon-to-be-former mayor spoke on community, the future, and what it means to be a lawmaker.
“At the end of the day it’s about who we all work for. And we work for the people. You have your supporters you have your detractors but once you’re elected you work for everybody. Every one of them. And uh we just have to keep reminding ourselves of that,” said Appleton Mayor Tim Hanna.
