GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – There’s still no trial date for a man charged with killing his wife, even though her body has not been found.
James Prokopovitz, 74, was charged last May with first-degree intentional homicide for the death of Victoria Prokopovitz. She was last seen in 2013.
In court Tuesday, a final pre-trial conference was set for March 23rd. He has pleaded not guilty.
Charges were filed after a secret John Doe hearing, held last year. Prokopovitz is also charged with perjury for allegedly lying during that proceeding.
Kathyrn Friday, who was dating James Prokopovitz at the time Victoria disappeared, is also charged with perjury. She returns to court March 20th.
James Prokopovitz was the last person to see Victoria, on April 25, 2013. Brown County Sheriff’s investigators say Victoria was reported missing, but her purse, cell phone and ID were all at her home in Pittsfield.
