SHAWANO, WI (WTAQ) – Shawano PD reporting on Wednesday, at approximately 10:12 a.m., the Shawano Police Department responded to E. Richmond St. and S. Airport Dr., for a report of a traffic crash.
Arriving personnel found two vehicles in the ditch.
The investigation determined that a pick-up truck travelling east on Richmond St., disregarded a stop sign and struck a passenger car travelling northon Airport Dr.
The driver of the truck, a 76-year-old Waubeno woman, was transported with critical injuries to ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano and later flown to a Fox Valley hospital.
The driver of the car, a 76-year-old Shawano man and a passenger, a 73-year-old Shawano woman, were deceased at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
The names of the persons involved are being withheld until family members can be notified.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
The Shawano Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Shawano Fire Department,Shawano Ambulance Service and Wisconsin State Patrol Technical Reconstruction Unit.
