GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Local government officials laid out their plans to deal with the possible spread of COVID-19 in Northeast Wisconsin during a Tuesday press conference.
“Cover those coughs and sneezes with your sleeve, wash your hands with soap, and if you’re unable to do so, use hand sanitizer,” said De Pere Health Department’s Deborah Armbruster.
That’s not just advice to ward off the flu, but to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus as well. Armbruster made those remarks during a Tuesday press conference alongside officials from Brown County and the Oneida Nation.
Oneida Nation’s Comprehensive Health Division Director Debbie Danforth says plans are already in place in case quarantines and testing are required in Brown County.
“We’re working to quickly identify and test anyone who may be infected to make sure they receive the right level of care and prevent additional transmission,” Danforth said.
A website, StayHealthyBC.com, has been set up to provide accurate info about the outbreak.
