GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Police made 49 traffic stops during an effort to focus on safety around school zones.
The Green Bay Police Department’s ‘Slow Down Green Bay’ initiative put officers on the streets for six hours Tuesday, beginning at 7 a.m.
The public was notified of the effort beforehand through a number of media outreach campaigns.
Police say they issued 37 tickets and 31 written warnings. The most common violation was speeding, for which 21 tickets and 21 warnings were issued.
Green Bay PD say the ‘Slow Down Green Bay’ program will continue.
