MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The Wisconsin Department of Health has confirmed three new cases of COVID-19 in the southeast part of the state.
Two of the cases come from Fond du Lac County and the third is in Waukesha County. Health officials say in all three cases the person likely contracted the disease from outside Wisconsin. The Waukesha County patient had traveled both domestically and internationally, One Fond du Lac patient had recently traveled internationally, the other domestically.
Two of the individuals are self-isolating, while one of the Fond du Lac patients has been hospitalized, the first person in the sate to be admitted from Coronavirus.
Wisconsin has now reported six cases of the highly contagious respiratory disease, which can be deadly in the elderly and those with underlying conditions.
Two of those cases were reported in the Madison area, one has since recovered. The remaining case came from Pierce County.
