GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A win is a win, even if it isn’t pretty.
Packers’ fans had mixed reactions to Sunday’s 27-20 victory over the Giants.
“It was definitely a tough game. They won, that’s all that matters,” said Justin Wyngaard.
During the Packers’ two game losing streak, at least one problem was clear, they just weren’t scoring enough.
Today, despite the win, the Green and Gold still had less than 300 yards of total offense and were dominated in time of possession.
Matt Lafleur’s offensive background has some fans placing blame at his feet.
“His seat definitely has to be getting warm at this point. There’s too much talent on the Packers’ offense to not score points against these teams,” said Wyngaard.
Others aren’t quite there yet.
“I would say that’s an overreaction. I’ll quote Aaron Rodgers here. R-E-L-A-X, relax,” said Collin Kremz.
Kicking has been an issue too.
Packers’ kicker, Brandon McManus, has battled injuries and when he has played, has a field goal percentage of just under 65%.
His backup, Lucas Havrisik, hasn’t missed a field goal this season, but missed two extra points today.
“When he missed that first kick, I was like, no, all of our kickers are bad. I’m like, we need to sign a new kicker,” said Asher Montgomery.
“I believe in McManus since we signed him last year. He’s been a great kicker. With the Broncos when the Broncos had him. So, that’s my guy I’ve never doubted him,” said Wyngaard.
Recent poor performances haven’t killed the optimism in fans.
Wyngaard added, “There’s a lot of good teams in the NFL It’s going to take a little luck and a lot better play to win it but any team any team that can make the playoffs can win the Super Bowl.”
“Super Bowl is still alive. We’re not that caliber yet. We have time to make it up to learn from these mistakes and really ramp it up towards the playoffs,” said Kremz.
There are seven games left in the regular season, for the Packers’ to ramp it up for the playoffs.
