GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The food service program in the Green Bay Public School District is still hard at work, even though students aren’t in class and may not be for some time.
Going forward the district is preparing breakfast and lunch. Thousands of meals each day.
“Food service department staff is considered emergency staff and they’re preparing the bags of food.”
It’s available to any child, whether they’re a student in the district or not.
“There’s 12 different sites in the district where families can come and pick up a bag that includes both breakfast and lunch.”
The district’s Lori Blakeslee says two of the stops on the schedule, Washington Middle School and Franklin Middle School, will also be where students can pick up laptops to continue their classes online.
“They’re able to stop by and pick up a laptop, so that as we move into the alternative learning program next week they’ll have that resource available to the.”
