DE PERE (WTAQ-WLUK) — Police in De Pere are investigating after a body was found inside a car pulled from the Fox River.
Police say on Tuesday morning, a citizen on a boat reported seeing something in the Fox River, possibly a vehicle.
When officers located the SUV in the water near the Bomier Boat Launch on the city’s east side, a dive team was called to help get it out.
Once the vehicle was recovered, a body was found inside.
The identity of the person will not be released at this time, pending notification to the family.
De Pere police captain Jeremy Muraski says investigators do not know when the vehicle went into the river but say it couldn’t have been there longer than three or four days.
