FOND DU LAC COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – The Fond du Lac County Health Department is reporting no changes to current COVID-19 numbers, but say that could change drastically in the coming days.
Fond du Lac County is waiting on a sizeable number of test results this week. All cases are currently traced to a source, but that may not last for long.
“Although we’re not seeing community spread with our current 17 cases, I could definitely anticipate that we may start seeing some additional cases that could mean community spread,” says Health Officer Kim Mueller.
Mueller encourages everyone to continue with social distancing and follow new orders from the state to keep the numbers as low as possible.
“By taking Governor Evers’ Safer at Home order seriously, this can lessen the spread here in Fond du Lac,” Mueller says, “Working together, we can impact our community and you can make a difference.”
An 18th case reported in the county is technically a resident – but lives in Florida and acquired the virus in that state. One person has died in Fond du Lac County as a result of COVID-19.
