MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin is quickly approaching the 1,000 mark.
There is about a 15% increase in people who tested positive on Saturday, as opposed to Friday.
The state Department of Health Services reports that 989 people have now tested positive for coronavirus in Wisconsin, up from 842 positive tests on Friday.
The Department of Health Services has also reported 13 deaths from coronavirus, although local reports have said that 17 people have died from coronavirus.
There were 15,232 people who tested negative as of Saturday.
Fond du Lac County continues to have the most positive tests in northeast Wisconsin, with 20 being reported Saturday, and one death.
Waupaca County also reported its first death from coronavirus Saturday. There are now two deaths reported in northeast Wisconsin.
