BELLEVUE, WI (WTAQ) — Brown County Sheriff’s deputies now say that both reports of a fake sheriff’s deputy conducting bogus “Stay-At-Home Compliance Checks” were fake.
A woman had reported she was stopped by an impersonator in the southern part of the county on March 23rd.
After 30 hours of investigation, deputies say the woman has confessed and they intend to press criminal charges.
Another report of a fake officer in Allouez was fake as well, deputies say.
They’re no longer searching for any impostors.
