PLAINFIELD, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — The family of a 6 year old girl struck and killed by a pick-up earlier this year near Plainfield while waiting for a school bus has filed a wrongful death lawsuit.
Maryana Kranz was attempting to board her Tri-County School bus with her 4-year old sister around 7 a.m. on the morning of February 10th on Highway 73 when the pair was hit by the truck. Authorities said the truck, driven by 76 year old Carl Mulliunex of Plainfield, had been driving on the shoulder of the road, on the right side of the bus.
Maryana Kranz was killed, while the younger sister suffered minor injuries.
The wrongful death suit, filed last Wednesday in Waushara County Circuit Court, names Mullinex and State Farm Insurance as plaintiffs.
No criminal charges have been filed against Mullinex in the death, while the investigation by the State Patrol continues.
