ALGOMA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A sidewalk chalk contest didn’t let a little snow Thursday get in the way of creativity.
The Algoma Youth Club started the sidewalk chalk art contest last week as a way to get people outside, while keeping social distancing.
Algoma Parks Director Sara Robertson tells FOX 11 artists of all ages were invited to create chalk designs and uplifting messages.
“It’s just kind of nice to be able to offer something during this hard time, when we’re all kind of uncertain about everything. But we can kind of have something fun to do that gets our mind off of the current events.”
Thursday was the final day to enter the contest.
Voting will take place on Easter Sunday. The community can vote for their favorite design by “liking” the picture on Facebook.
The design with the most likes by Monday, April 13th at 8 a.m. wins a prize package.
