GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The calendar says it’s spring….but apparently Mother Nature isn’t looking .
The National Weather Service is forecasting a system that will move in on Easter Sunday.
And Roy Eckberg, with the National Weather Service office in Ashwaubenon, says this event will bring a lot of wind and a lot of snow to Northeast Wisconsin. How much…?
“the amounts are still highly uncertain at this point.”
The scary part is some places around here could see half a foot.
And then there’s the wind.
“there will be strong northly winds behind this system, which could produce some flooding.”
The trouble spots for flooding chances are in Door County and along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
Eckberg says the snow part of this system should be finished late Sunday. The stiff winds could be here through Monday.
And there’s no guarantee this is winter’s last gasp.
“In Green Bay we’ve had measurable snow as late as May 28th.”
